The story of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, that is the love story between two young people who are found in an abandoned well. The Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam song "Teri Meri From the Movie" In an interview with Reuters, Salman Khan said that he is already working on his next film which is tentatively called "RASHTAN". The film is the last completed film of director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and also his second directorial venture after "Zubeidaa". It is the only completed film in his career, with his work on "Ishq" still in progress and the pre-production work on "RasHTan" holding in full swing.

The soundtrack was composed and lyrics written by Anand Bakshi who is known for composing music for silent films like "Seema", "Aradhana", and "They Died with Their Boots On". Shaad Ali has been hired as music composer for this movie. Lyrics of all songs are penned by the lyricist Gulzar. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam became a super hit at the box office and was a huge commercial success.
